Kesco authorities started a toll free service on which a consumer can call and lodge a complaint or seek solutions for the queries.
KANPUR: Kesco authorities started a toll free service (number) from Saturday midnight on which a consumer can call and lodge a complaint or seek solutions for the queries. This will provide better facilities to its consumers.
Chief engineer (I), Randhir Singh told TOI, "this toll free service initiated by us is actually a helpline number or can be called a call centre where the consumer grievances will be entertained and solutions will be provided.
The toll free number is 1800-180-5-111 which can be dialled by any phone, be it a mobile or a landline."
The senior official further added that the toll free service started functioning from March 28 midnight. He dedicated the service to the consumers nd hoped that they will make the best use of it especially, at the times of grievances. "The consumer can make a call on this free number to register his complaint. If the complaint is of a minimal nature, the solution for the same will be given then and there itself", said SK Verma, a senior Kesco official.
The official further illustrated, that if the complaint lodged by the complainant will be of a larger magnitude, the call centre employee will transfer the call to the respective official who will be directly linked to the consumer. The solution for the same will then be given accordingly.
"The previous helpline number 1912 on which the consumers used to call to make queries has been called off. The toll free number 1800-180-5-111 is a 24 hour service just like any other call centre. Complaints lodged by callers about power theft in their areas will be entertained seriously and if such a complaint is found true proper action will be initiated against those who are found guilty", SK Verma added.
Verma concluded by saying that the consumers should make the most of now by making use of the free toll free service of Kesco, available for round the clock. He also informed, that similar service has been initiated in five other cities of the state viz, Meerut, Varanasi, Lucknow, Agra and Kanpur.
