Apple Gift no receipt exchange policy/process I received imac 24" as gift with no receipt, but it is not the configuration I want. I entered serial number on box and it's eligible for return. Can I exchange it instead for the imac 24" configuration I need? I do NOT want my best friend to know it is not the model I wanted.

Your request sounds a little shady. Why not ask him to exchange it for you? I'm not saying you obtained the computer illegally but if you could do it, what would stop anyone from asking "Can I exchange a computer for which I have no receipt and I don't want the purchaser to know about the exchange for a new computer registered in my name?" Doesn't that sound a little suspicious? Thieves could exchange stolen computers for new computers registered in their name.
